We need to be strong because of our adversaries
We need to be strong because of our testimonies

Finally    A Word That Looks Backward And Forward

It looks back to the rich truths of this epistle (letter)
It looks ahead to the conflicts of the Christian life

Lets Consider These Important Words This Morning: BE STRONG!

Be Strong   These are Military words

Every believer is enlisted in a battle

Paul is about to reveal the enemy   Ephesians 6:11-12

We face a powerful enemy with many allies
We must be strong for the battle

In what areas do we need to be strong?

Strong in character   Ephesians 6:14
Strong in faith   Ephesians 6:16
Strong in Bible knowledge   Ephesians 6:17
Strong in prayer   Ephesians 6:18

Be Strong  These can be Mocking Words

Sometimes Good Words Are Meaningless

Maybe These Good Words Mock You Today

Do you feel especially weak.
Do your trials have you on the ropes.
Do you wonder if you can go on.
Has temptations edged you to a bottomless pit.

You´ve Tried To Be Strong

You intended to clean up your language.
You tried to control your temper.
You made an effort to stop hurting others with your tongue.
You decided to maintain a devotional life.

Problem is, you keep failing over and over again!

Be Strong   The Words That Follow Make These Miraculous Words

Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might

Some Battles Are To Tough For Us

The Adversaries Are To Strong For Us

We Have A Powerful Savior   Matthew 28:18

This changes the picture.
We can exchange our weakness for His strength   Isaiah 40:31
We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us   Philippians 4:13

Conclusion

Our Crucified And Living Lord Gives The Victory

He invites all defeated ones to come to Him
Trusting Him we are sure to overcome

Faith Overcomes The World   1 John 5:4
