We Need Revival!
There has never been a more serious time in our historyA troubled world
Moral Decay
There is a countdown in progress!
It is time for a genuine revival and it must start in our Churches!
In scripture we see that Isaiah the prophet also lived in a time similar to ours.
read Chapter 1 We see a wayward peopleread Chapter 5 We see woes pronounced
read Chapter 6 Isaiah is revived
How does Isaiah´s vision relate to you Today?
We can Learn Three Things
A New Awareness of the Character of God
In Isaiah 6:1 we see that the time frame was in the year that King Uzziah died.He was a great and powerful king.
When he died the Bible says that Isaiah saw the Lord
Since Uzziah has died, Isaiah can´t look to the king, he looks to God and finds out what God is really like!
We can´t look to man for Revival
So, What is God Like?
He is all powerful OmnipotentHe is all knowing Omniscient
He is everywhere Omnipresent
He is eternal
Isaiah had to learn that God is holy in Isaiah 6:3
Holy Holy Holy =Trinity
Moses shows us in Exodus 3:5 When we are in the presence of God we are on Holy ground.
The Cross the supreme example of God´s holiness
read Revelation 4:8And the four beast had each of them six wings, about him, and they were full of eyes within, and they rest not day and night, saying Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.
A New Awakening of Christian Conscience
In Isaiah 6:5-6Then said I, woe is me!
the difference between this woe and the woes from proceeding chapters, is that Isaiah recognizes his own condition and saw himself measured by God´s standard.
In these last days we find that old fashioned honesty is hard to find.
We have "rubber band convictions" we can stretch them to suit our circumstances.
Isaiah Confesses His Conditions
I am undone verse 5I am a man of unclean lips verse 5
I live in the midst of a people of unclean lips verse 5
Notice How Specific Isaiah is in His Confession!
In Isaiah 6:6-7 we see a clear message of forgiveness.A New Concern for the Souls of Men
Read Isaiah 6:8God asks us in this verse "Whom Shall I Send?"
Isaiah says "Send Me"
People will pray almost anything but this!
Question Is?
Are You Willing to go Wherever the Lord Sends or Leads?
The Lords Question Still Sounds, What Will Your Answer Be?
When Your Heart is Right, You are Ready for Service.
Isaiah 6:1-8 In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.
2 Above it stood the seraphim´s, each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.
3 And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts, the whole earth is full of his glory.
4 And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.
5 Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.
6 Then flew one of the seraphim´s unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar.
7 And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.
8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.
