A Little While

Hebrews 10:32-37

The writer of Hebrews is writing to encourage those folks who were suffering in his day.
read Hebrews 10:32 we see how they were being persecuted.
read Hebrews 10:33 They were reproached and afflicted.
read Hebrews 10:34 They lost their worldly possessions.
read Hebrews 10:35-36 They were tempted to give up.
read Hebrews 10:37 The writer brings good news; Someone´s Coming!

Are you going through some problem today?

Three Questions

Who Will Come?
Why Hasn´t He Come Yet?
When Will He Come?

Who Is this One Who Will Come?

In Hebrews 10:37 He that shall come.
Jesus Is Coming   The one who died and rose again. He knows all about being persecuted.
He knows all about being afflicted.

Do you realize how important this news is?

Did You Know?

  • One out of 30 Bible verses teach it.
  • It is mentioned 8 times more than His first coming
  • In 216 chapters, there are 318 references to His coming back
  • Whole chapters are given to His Return
  • Whole books of the Bible are given to His Return
Jesus´ coming was promised by Jesus, angels and apostles.

Why Has He Not Yet Come?

In 2 Peter 3:3 many will doubt His coming.
Know this first, that there will come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts.

Let´s look at three Bible reasons why Jesus hasn´t come yet.

  1. read Matthew 24:36 It´s simply not God´s timing yet!
  2. read Acts 15:14-16 The Church has not yet been completed
  3. read 2 Peter 3:8-11 God´s longsuffering is not yet exhausted

When Will He Come?

In a Little While lets look at Matthew 24:36 again.
But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

Date setters will always be wrong!
False prophets will be proven frauds!
But Know This!
Jesus will be right on time!

Jesus may be coming sooner than you think.
read Matthew 24:44
Therefore be ye also ready for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of Man cometh.

Are You Ready?!

Christ will come in a Little While
There are two ways of looking at the Lord´s coming.

Looking For It

OR

Looking At It

You know it´s possible to look at it with a great deal of interest and intellect, but not mean a thing to you personally.
OR
You can look for it with very little knowledge, theology wisdom, but have a deep and holy longing in your heart to see Jesus!
Unto them that look for Him shall He appear a second time without sin unto salvation.

Hebrews 10:32 But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions;
33 Partly, whilst ye were made a gazing stock both by reproaches and afflictions; and partly, whilst ye became companions of them that were so used.
34 For ye had compassion of me in my bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of your goods, knowing in yourselves that ye have in heaven a better and an enduring substance.
35 Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward.
36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.
37 For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.

2 Peter 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
