No Fault Found In Jesus

John 18:38

From The Hosannas Of Palm Sunday To Pilate´s Hall

The betrayal by Judas
Peter Denies his Lord
Jesus on trial

Christ before Pilate

The earthly judge and the judge of all the earth
As H.A. Ironside puts it: Pilate before Christ

We find Pilate´s decision in  John 18:38

Let´s Study This Statement!

Here Is A Statement Of A Firsthand Witness

Pilate was there

Let today´s critics of Christ be silenced
Pilate´s testimony would stand in any court
He had personally examined the accused

Pilate repeated his decision 3 times. Once in our text
John 19:4  John 19:6

Pilate´s decision agrees with Scripture

Who did no sin  1 Peter 2:22
Holy, harmless, undefiled  Hebrews 7:26

Here Is The Statement Of One Who Was Searching For Faults

Pilate had frequent problems with the Jews

They kept reporting him to Rome
He was in trouble with Rome because of them

He had been sent to Jerusalem to keep peace

It was time for the Passover
No riots were wanted

Pilate would like to have found a fault in Jesus

He was actually looking for a fault in Jesus
He wanted to keep peace with the Jews

Some people are always looking for faults

Give them sunshine and they will worry about rain
They are only happy when they are complaining
They continually major in the minors

But Pilate, Mr. Negative, could find nothing wrong with our Lord

Here Is A Statement By One Who Rejected The Faultless One

Pilate found absolutely no fault in Jesus

Neither did he place faith in Him
His nice negative comment left him lost

In Matthew 27:22, Pilate asks this moving question, What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ?

He left life´s greatest question to others
He tried to be neutral by washing his hands, then he claimed to be innocent  Matthew 27:24
Like so many folks do today, he decided by not deciding

Conclusion

What will you do with the faultless one?

Don´t make the same mistake Pilate made

Receive this perfect Savior by Faith

Make life´s greatest decision
Believe and be saved  Acts 16:31
Serve Him with your whole heart and soul!
