It was about how Corrie´s family hid many Jews in their home when the Germans came into Holland.
Her family was caught hiding them and was also placed in concentration camps where she and her family were
abused and tortured.
During these extremely harsh years of danger and troubles, she found the presence and power of God.
She found a "hiding place" in the Lord.
In the Psalms David also refers to God as a shelter or hiding place. "Thou art my hiding place".
He was taught by his parents that God was a hiding place.
He found strength and courage when he came against Goliath.
When he had to run from Sail´s jealous rage, he found refuge the Lord.
When he led the armies of Israel into battle, he new the Lord to be a hiding place.
All through David´s life he ran to God for refuge.
I want us to look at 3 things.
All Of us Need A Hiding Place
David´s life demonstrates to us that there is a definite need for a hiding place.
|
He lived through a mixture of sunlight and shadows, times of laughing and crying.
He definitely needed a hiding place.
All of us need a hiding place at one time or another.
Life brings with it, as in David´s life sunlight and shadows, triumphs and troubles.
our lives sometimes are so filled with business that we live by clocks and calendars.
The pressures of just getting through a day can drive us to a hiding place.
Sin and temptations can drive us to a hiding place.
When David was confronted with the reality of the sin in his life, he ran to a hiding place with God.
He said in Psalms 32:7 "Thou art my hiding place."
We are constantly under attack by the enemy, temptation is always before us and during these times we need
a hiding place.
Jesus was tempted by satan in the wilderness but he resisted.
When He resisted the bible says that angels came to minister to Him. Jesus had a hiding place too.
We live in very dangerous times.
There is a constant threat that another terrorist attack may come at any time.
The threat of nuclear or biological attacks.
There are those who have actually built places to hide in, like underground shelters, if there were such an attack.
The Lord can be our hiding place.
Sorrows and sadness, maybe the loss of a loved one. We need a hiding place.
David needed a hiding place when he lost his son Absalom, whom he loved to death.
All Of Us Can Have A Hiding Place
David identified his hiding place
His hiding place was not in his royal standing, his knowledge, his wealth, or his friends. He identified his hiding place in Psalms 61:3
God is an amazing hiding place. Only God is adequate for whatever life may bring.
Throughout the years people have found that God is a trustworthy hiding place.
David hid himself centuries ago, Corrie ten Boom found a hiding place in the twentieth century.
Read Psalms 46:1 A place of refuge is only good if it is stronger than the storm. God Is Sufficient.
No trial, temptation or trouble you face is stronger than Him.
Read Proverbs. 18:10
All Of Us Can Benefit From A Hiding Place
David testified that the secret of his life was his relationship with the Lord.
Throughout his writings we can see many testimonies about God as the strength of his life, the guide of his life, and his close companion.
Going to God for our hiding place will bring many benefits to our lives.
