Faith What It Is

Hebrews 11:1-7

To get the best out of this have a Bible available to read and see the scripture being used, to know that I am not just saying this.

If you don´t have a Bible email the Webmaster, and he will help you get one.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

We are saved by Faith in Christ! Ephesians 2:8-9
We are justified by Faith in Christ Romans 5:1

Faith is defined by:

  • The assurance of things hoped for.
  • Believing God to the point of action: Faith without action is dead.
  • Our response to God´s Revelation.

Three different ways we exercise our Faith!

We Worship God!

Let´s look at Abel in verse 4; We see Abel´s faith caused him to Worship God.

  • He picked the choicest Lamb as an offering.
  • And brought it to the place of sacrifice.

LISTEN!

There is a serious problem with a persons life that does not Worship!
We can´t be saved and stay away from the Church?!
Listen to me There´s something wrong with that Faith Experience
DO NOT FORSAKE THE ASSEMBLING TOGETHER!
Faith looks for the opportunity to Worship! How many can testify to the fact that your Faith is stronger when you attend Church regularly compared to when you don´t!

Our Walk with God

Hebrews 11:5-6 we see that "Faith made Enoch walk with God." turn to Genesis 5:22-24
2 Corinthians 5:15 "Therefore if any man be in Christ he is a new creature, old things are passed away; behold all things are become new."
Our walk will be changed if, by Faith, we trust in Christ.
Enoch was pleasing in God´s eye.
Is He pleased with you and me?

Is He pleased with:

  • Our recreation?
  • Books we read?
  • Words we say?
  • Plans we make?

We can also see in Enoch´s walk with God

His Faith delivered him from death, He was Translated.

Our Work for God

Faith made Noah work for God, read Hebrews 11:7
Genesis Chapter 6: tells the tragic story of mankind falling into sin, The result is the World being destroyed by the Flood.
God´s amazing Grace on the other hand saves the Righteous, Noah and his family.

Try to imagine the Faith Noah must of had to build the Ark.

  • Noah built the Ark on Faith believing God!
  • Every swing of the hammer says: FAITH!
  • Every swing of the Ax says: FAITH!
  • Every fallen tree says: FAITH!
  • Every brush stroke while putting on the pitch (tar) says: FAITH!
  • So our Faith must make us work today!
  • Every time we come to Church it says: FAITH!
  • Every time we put our Tithes and Offerings in the plate it says: FAITH!
  • Every time we Witness it says: FAITH!
  • Every time we Teach, empty a trash can, clean the floor, fix a covered dish, set up a table, run a sound system, lead music it says: FAITH!

OUR WORSHIP

OUR WALK

OUR WORK

says:    FAITH!      Hebrews 11:6 "Without Faith it is impossible to please God."

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
2 For by it the elders obtained a good report.
3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
4 By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.
5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
